I have produced three one-hour radio dramas based upon the lives of three of classical music's most colorful historical figures: Beethoven, Brahms, and Schubert.
The programs were co-developed with actor Raymond Saar, who served as dramatic director and writer. Each time we broadcast one of these, the station receives immediate public interest and praise.

I hosted the Sunday Evening Opera during it's ten-year run on KKGO in Los Angeles. To make the intermissions more interesting, I often presented the broadcast from a restaurant in LA which devoted itself to opera in addition to Italian food. This was not one of those singing waiter places--Franco had a stage for the professional singers, who presented operatic arias and choruses.
Eventually, word got out and often the diners there would include many fine operatic singers, who would join in on the chorus sections. Wish you could have been there for the Halloween broadcast, with the audience members dressed as their favorite operatic characters.

Tuesdays and Thursdays are Classical Nights at the Hollywood Bowl during the summer.
2006 Found me doing my daily afternoon-drive radio program on KMZT, Los Angeles from the Bowl.
Besides giving me the opportunity to meet so many of my listeners, artists appearing at the Bowl would drop by for informal conversations. Among them, Sir Andrew Davis, Pekka Kussisto, John Mauceri, John Waxman, Andrew Litton, Leonard Slatkin, and others.
